Our step-by-step process to bring amenities to your community
Fill out the request form with details about the amenity you need. Include your location, the type of facility (gym, library, healthcare center, etc.), and why your community needs it. The more details you provide, the better we can assess the need.
Our volunteer team reviews each submission within 48-72 hours. We verify the location, check for duplicate requests, and assess the feasibility. Requests are categorized by district and priority for efficient processing.
For approved requests, our local volunteers conduct ground surveys to gather additional data. This includes photos, community signatures, population estimates, and existing infrastructure assessment. This documentation strengthens our advocacy.
We compile requests into formal proposals and present them to relevant authorities - Panchayats, Municipal bodies, MLAs, and government departments. We follow up regularly and keep you updated on progress through your reference ID.
You can request gyms, libraries, public toilets, community centers, playgrounds, healthcare facilities, street lights, water supply, roads, and any other public infrastructure your area needs.
No, this is a completely free community service. We are volunteers working to improve Sikkim's public infrastructure.
After submission, you'll receive a Reference ID (e.g., SKM123456789). Use this ID in the "Track Status" section above to check your request's current status anytime.
Yes! You can submit as many requests as needed for different amenities or locations. Each request gets a unique reference ID.
We're always looking for volunteers to help with surveys, documentation, and advocacy. Contact us via WhatsApp or email to join our team.
Approved requests are compiled into proposals and submitted to relevant authorities. We continue to follow up until the amenity is sanctioned or we receive a formal response.

"What Sikkimese Want!" is a grassroots, community-led movement born from a simple belief: the people who live in Sikkim's villages and towns know best what they need. Our initiative brings together ordinary citizens, passionate volunteers, and local leaders to identify, document, and advocate for essential public amenities that can transform lives.
At the heart of our work are the children and families of rural Sikkim. Many villages lack basic facilities that urban areas take for granted - libraries where young minds can explore, community centers where families can gather, clean drinking water that prevents illness, and street lights that make roads safe after dark.
Our volunteers are the backbone of this initiative. They come from all walks of life - students, teachers, professionals, homemakers, and retirees - united by their love for Sikkim and their commitment to community service.
Volunteering with "What Sikkimese Want!" is more than just community service - it's an opportunity to directly shape the future of your district and create lasting impact in the lives of your neighbors.
Our volunteers are the eyes, ears, and voice of communities across Sikkim. Whether you have a few hours a week or can commit to larger projects, there's a place for you in our team.
You don't need special qualifications or experience - just a genuine desire to help, basic smartphone skills for documentation, and the ability to interact respectfully with community members and officials. We provide all the training, materials, and support you need to be effective.
